wrung are a badass gritty post-punk band from NYC. my personal favorite "i can't do anything" ,,, because lately i haven't been able to do anything. its currently the soundtrack to my lazy lyfe. lucky for Wrung, they're doing everything RIGHT...because the entirety of this record is fucking RIGHTeous ;O...also where have all these bands been all my life? i swear all the killer new bands are comin' outta NYC now-a-days....good thing i'm moving there soon-ish. Lithics - Borrowed Floors
the horns are calling me. fuck, the last track is fucking brilliant (seven people) Lithics are from portland, oregon. A 4-piece band with female vox (aubrey hornor). minimalist post-punk at its best. think essential logic meets neo boys meets chalk circle meets idk, any 70s or 80s lady post-punk band. I mega dig this record.

Sievehead - Into The Blue
from sheffield uk. this is their debut album and by golly it's impressive. post-punk tungage. garage rock tunage. Surf rock tunage. it hits all the sweet spots. (well mine at least) For fans of dreamdecay, total control, etc. …sounds like all that stuff.
Personal favorite: look both ways, cuz catchy riffs, chorus, it’s been stuck in my head since the very first listen, that means something right? it does.
you can pre-order/purchase it here at evil hoodoo records...and i suggest you do so asap i imagine it selling out very fast: Sievehead - Into The Blue
(also might want to check out milk run records...it's a joint release- ayyy)

Flykills - Squirrel
From nyc. holy hell. punk rock overload all thanks to gustavo rivera. his screechy, hyper, pitchy vocals is what sets this band apart from the rest.
personal fav: (did i tell y'all that I'm such a sucker for covers?) …homies cover a song by the 80s spanish post-punk band Paralysis Permanente, titled Vamos a Jaguar. it's much faster in pace and has gustavos personal touch added to the mix-holla. Love that they are tacklin' the roots of it all. compare the two yo self if ya want : The original version: Paralysis Permanente - Vamos a Jaguar
also, if ya dig this band or genre (like i do) check out this compilation: Sombras (Spanish Post Punk + Dark Pop 1981-1986) (paralysis permanente is on the comp as well as many, many other brilliant spanish post-punk bands)

Anasazi - Nasty Witch Rock
I didn't really know what to expect from this record considering the first track is a recording from some hip-hop vid? some 90s film? Beat Street perhaps? ;) Either way, your ears are in for a surprise. Anasazi are a post-punk 4-piece band from nyc. i originally stumbled across these guys via Sacred Bones yrs ago and haven't let them go. They definitely haven't lost their sound. Nasty Witch Rock continues to carry Anasazi's unique post-punk sound, but only it's gotten better! Much darker, louder, aggressive. Highly recommend. personal favorite: memba me, cuz it'll give you the fuckin' chills.
Check this shiz out here and purchase please:

Also, purchase the record via La Vida Es Un Mus Records ! and also check out the rest of their catalog it's packed with the raddest shit 'round.

Past - Demo
i could jam to this all day. Past is a post-punk band from warsaw, poland. (poland, personally has the fucking' raddest post-punk scene...even dating back to the late 70s, when the scene was represented by bands like Kryzys <3...Now it's represented by bands like Past and it more so than ever it's strengthening the post-punk scene) Male and female vox / crisp bass riffs / repetitive clean rhythmic beats.
I can't wait to hear more shizz from these guys.

Artefact - Demo
Artefact is a post-punk band from Cardiff, UK. quite a refreshing take on the post-punk sound. The vocalist is really the back-bone to this band/album- dark and gloomy vocals ala siouxsie (typical comparison, i know but it's true) Great freakin' demo.

Trauma Harness - Dead And Loving It EP
The band describes themselves as "gloomy vibes from st. louis/belleville. catching you with a death bag"... which I think is pretty accurate.

Animals & Men - To Live And Die In The West Country
Reunited and it feels so good. I think they played a handful of gigs last year or the year before (can't remember) But, Susan Wells is the shit! Home girl still got it goin' on. If you're not familiar with A & M, they formed in the uk around the 70s and went on to play up until the 80s. A & M were inspired by bands like pere ubu and fucking rad-ass garage-punk bands from the 60s, thus using that inspiration and creating a sound of their own.
(I also remember reading this article about them or it was an interview with them, i can't remember... and they referred to roky erickson (13th floor) and how they wanted to write/release a single that was just as brilliant...in hopes to change music history the way they had. I thought that was pretty interesting)
Anywho, A & M rawks.
